Rebecca J Hansen Design Studio is built on the art of contrast—blending bold and subtle, modern and vintage, structured and organic, to create spaces with depth and meaning.

Rebecca J Hansen Design Studio creates custom interior designs for residential and small business spaces in Southern California, the United States, and Costa Rica.

Our thoughtful approach to design results in a full-service client experience from concept to completion. Using selections that perfectly fit your lifestyle, RJH has the sensibility to create a space that’s both welcoming for guests and a sanctuary for you.

Rebecca is an interior designer living in Los Angeles, CA. Since founding her firm in 2016, her experience designing residential and commercial spaces has included roles as a design assistant for The Standard Hotel’s downtown Los Angeles and West Hollywood locations.

Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Modern Dance from the University of Utah and received her certification through the acclaimed UCLA’s Architecture and Interior Design program. She credits her background in choreography with her talent for communication, observation, leadership, and understanding how to organize elements to create beauty and flow; these skills she integrates throughout your home to tell a story that is only yours.

Rebecca enjoys being in nature, sketching, dancing, yoga, antiquing, gardening, and traveling with her two children. As a working professional, pet owner, and home renovator, Rebecca personally understands the importance of furnishing and the use of space in creating an enjoyable and relaxing home.

Rebecca J Hansen was chosen as one of the designers for Pasadena Showcase for the Arts in both 2024 and 2025. She is a member of the Good Future Design Alliance.

“It was inspired by nature and movement,”
Rebecca Hansen says of the cozy primary suite she designed in the Gatehouse. Organic, tactile elements, such as the woven Palecek light fixture and wood furnishings, add touches of nature and texture to the petite space. “I was mindful of using small businesses and local artists,” Hansen says.
“So pretty much 90% [of the pieces are] things that you can buy here to help the environment and to support other small businesses.”
